When Paths Diverge…

When you come to a fork in the road – whether metaphorical or literal – it can sometimes be difficult to decide which path to take. One path may seem direct and easy and therefore the most logical choice. However, it doesn’t necessarily make it the best choice for you – or even the most enjoyable one. Sometimes it is being off the beaten path that creates the most positive changes and memories.

Sometimes in life you are given multiple choices and it can be hard to know which one is the “right” decision. One thing I have learned is that sometimes it is the choice that scares you most that brings the most rewards.

Recently I was offered a job position. The easy path would have been to continue as I had been in the part-time role I had. It would mean less responsibility and more time to dedicate to my passion products, but it would also have been the safe bet. Staying where I was wouldn’t have grown me and challenged me, whereas accepting the new position would. I knew it would have its own difficulties moving forward, but in the end I decided to choose the path that scared me more. Now, two weeks later I am exhausted, but completely thrilled that I chose the option that scared me most. I know I’m exactly where I need to be.

No risks=no rewards.

My blog posts may not be released as routine as they have been as I learn to balance this new schedule, but eventually I hope the balance will return so I can reintroduce my passion projects (like this website) back fully into my schedule.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given and for the courage to follow paths that may not be clearly laid out.

Happy holidays to you and yours! May all the risks you take pay off.
